I recently accepted a full tuition scholarship and will be attending the school that is absolutely the best fit for me. As soon
as my SAS profile was distributed nationwide, I had four college
coaches call me that very night. And over the next 3 months, I was
contacted by 60+ more coaches. I can not say enough about SAS and the
exposure they bring to athletes. If I were to enroll in the
program all over again, I would have started the process at the end of
my freshman year of high school! Thank you again SAS for the life
changing opportunity you have given me!

Christa Cook competed collegiately for San Jose State University,
as a scholarship volleyball athlete. She was co-captain of the Spartans
her senior year, when they were ranked #1 in the country. She was
the Conference Most Valuable Player, when the Spartans went to the
Final Four.
After college, she trained with the U.S.A Olympic “B” Team and competed in Yugoslavia at the World University Games. She played Professional Volleyball for 8 years, both indoor and beach.
She has coached College, High School, and Club Volleyball for the past 20 years, and took Aptos High School, Sacred Heart Prep, & Archbishop Mitty High School
to the California State Championships. She enjoys teaching the skills
and strategies of the sport, and passing on the many valuable things
she has learned from both playing and coaching.
“I very much enjoy
coaching and helping young players. I believe in instilling a strong
base from which to build by focusing on key fundamentals, discipline,
team unity, and a can-do attitude. I believe it’s vital to teach
players HOW to be successful, and then trust that “wins”
will follow.
The value gained when
striving for a goal should not always be measured by the end result.
Constant growth and positive experiences provide a base for life-long
achievement, and are much more valuable than a trophy. I learned this
from the incredible coaches I played for, and the teammates I played
with. The many trophies we gained were neat shiny things. The successes
we accomplished everyday, were felt in the heart each day, and I
treasure these as the most valuable experiences of my life.” |
